- Milton (Milt) Washelesky, 75, Kewaskum, Wis., died peacefully on April 26 after a long battle with cancer.
Milt was born Oct. 14, 1948, in Fort Atkinson, Wis., the son of Milton and Ruth Washelesky. He grew up in Cambridge, Wis., graduating from Cambridge High School in 1966. He graduated from the Wisconsin School of Electronics in Madison, Wis., before embarking on a long career working for Wisconsin Bell and other telecommunications companies.
In high school, he met the love of his life, Sharon Washelesky (nee Allen), and they married in 1970 in Deerfield, Wis., eventually settling in West Bend, Wis. Milt was the loving father of two children, Tanya (Mike) Krueger, West Bend, Wis., and Jason (Dawn), Sterling, Va. He was the proud grandfather of Eli, Jack, Luke, Ben, Ahren, Emma, Ada and Henry.
He is survived by sisters Jacqueline Currie (Hot Springs, Ark.) and Veronica Holman (Dodgeville, Wis.), as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Milt will always be remembered for his warm heart and his generosity. He was always available and willing to lend a hand to friends and neighbors. There was no project he couldn't handle.
Perhaps his greatest joy in life was spending time with his children and grandchildren, rarely missing an event no matter how small. Spending time with family and friends at the family cabin on Ada Lake near Wabeno, Wis., provided cherished memories for all. Time at Ada Lake provided Milt with time to relax and unwind as he tinkered and fished.
Milt's family would like to thank Dr. John Burfeind and the staff at Froedtert Cancer center in West Bend, Wis., for their care and support.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in Washington County Memorial Park.
