- Liv Myhre Olsen, Bayville
Liv Myhre Olsen passed away peacefully on August 27, 2016 at her home in Bayville, New Jersey. She was 95 years of age.
Liv was born in Naresto, Norway on March 1, 1921 to Jenny and Silas Myhre. She came to America in 1927. Her family settled on Staten Island. She graduated from Port Richmond High School on Staten Island in 1940. She married Edward Olsen on February 25, 1943. She moved to Bayville, NJ in 1972. Liv and Eddie built a beautiful home on the Toms River where they both lived for the rest of their lives. She was a member of the Sons of Norway, Nansen Lodge on Staten Island for over 75 years and was very proud of her Norwegian ancestry. Liv loved to garden and was also a long time member of the Toms River Garden Club. She was an excellent cook and hostess. Her home was decorated with many of her needlework projects. She enjoyed a very healthy life. Liv worshiped at Zion Lutheran Church on Staten Island and the First Presbyterian Church of Toms River. Her family was the most important thing in her life.
She is preceded in death by her husband Edward Olsen, her brothers, Andreas Myhre, Leif Myhre, John Myhre, Robert Myhre, and her sister Miriam Edkins. She is survived by her daughter Nancy Ivanowski of Beachwood, NJ, her son Dr. Norman Olsen of Toms River, NJ, her brother Arvid Myhre, four grandchildren, three great grandchildren children and many nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Carmona Bolen Funeral Home 412 Main St. in Toms River, NJ. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at noon in the funeral home. Burial will follow at the BGWCD, NJ Veteran's Cemetery in Arneytown, NJ
