- Obituary John Alan Lindlof
John Alan Lindlof, 55, died in a Bangor hospital, May 22, 1982.
He was born in Brooklyn, New York, February 2, 1927, the son of the late Oscar Kenneth Lindlof and Margaret Thompson King Lindlof.
He was a graduate of Manumit School in Pawling, N.Y., the Cambridge School of Weston, Mass., attended Wesleyan College, and graduated from Yale University, Class of 1947. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He received a M.Ed. from Temple University, M.Ed. from the University of New Mexico and did his graduate studies at Cornell University.
He was an instructor and later co-director of the Manumit School of Langhorne, Penn., from 1947 to 1957. Following which he was an instructor in Rye High School in Rye, N.Y., 1957 - 1959.
From 1959 - 1960, he served as an N.S.F Fellow at the University of New Mexico, a graduate assistant and instructor at the University of Maine at Orano for 20 years.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia (Parrish) Lindlof of Orano, one son, Kenneth Graeme Lindlof of Waterville, one sister, Karen King Plunkett of Bricktown, N.J., several nieces and nephews.
A family service will be held at St. Lukes Episcopal Church in Cambridge, N.Y., followed by burial in Woodland Cemetery. A memorial service will be held in Orano at a time to be announced.
