- Corrine "Mombo" Turner, 89, of Chippewa Falls passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at Grace Willowbrook in Eau Claire.
Mombo was born Sept. 8, 1919, to Amanda (Anderson) and Henry Hendrickson in Sand Creek. She was united in marriage to Clifford Turner on May 10, 1942, at Grace Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. Corrine was an avid bowler and golfer until she was 85. The most important thing in Mombo's life was her family that she loved with all her heart.
She is survived by her children, Dan Turner, Nancy (Ed) Kuechenmeister, Rick and Cindy Turner, all of Chippewa Falls; four grandchildren, Paul Kuechenmeister, Cori Kuechenmeister (Nick Sandvig) of Minneapolis, Eric (Nicole) Turner, Chris (Ashley) Turner of Chippewa Falls; two great-grandchildren, Colton and Keira Turner; two sisters, Harriet Sola of Albert Lea, Minn., and Betty (Glenn) Olson of Rochester, Minn.; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Harvey Hendrickson; one sister, Helen Hendrickson; and brothers-in-law, Iner Sola and Harry Kisilewski.
A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 22, 2009, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Chippewa Falls, with the Rev. Paul Oppedahl officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today (Thursday, May 21) at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls, and one hour before the service Friday at the church.
