- SAND CREEK — Mildred Hendrickson, age 85, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, March 23, 2004, at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire. She was born the 10th of 11 children, on January 15, 1919, in the town of Sand Creek to Hans and Julia (Peterson) Berg. She married Harvey Hendrickson on April 23,1946, in Sand Creek.
Mildred spent her entire life in the Sand Creek area. She was proud of her Norwegian heritage, and making delicious lefse was oneof her specialties. She loved to cook and bake and was always ready forfriends and relatives to stop by for coffee. She raised three children; but in her later years, she worked at ABC in Chetek and was the senior nutrition site manager in Sand Creek. She was the past president of the Sand Creek Civic Club, was a member of the Gideon Auxiliary, and of Running Valley Lutheran Church in rural Colfax.
She is survived by one son, Duane (Mary) Hendrickson of Menomonie; one daughter, Lynda Roth of Sand Creek; one granddaughter, Kris (Doug) Erickson of Eau Claire; two great-grandchildren, Carter and Cassidy Erickson of Eau Claire; one sister-in-law, Agnes Berg of Chetek.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harvey; one son, James Hendrickson; six sisters, Eleanor Berg, Bertha Adkins, Jemina Madison, Ellen Anderson, Esther Huset and Gilma Brenholt; four brothers, Albert, Raymond, Clayton and Gilman Berg; 18 brothers- and sisters-in-law; one nephew; one great-great-niece; and many friends.
Mildred is now united with her Lord and her family and is lonesome no more.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 28, 2004, at 2 p.m. at New Hope Lutheran Church in Sand Creek with Pastors Barb Koch and Mark Skogerboe officiating. Interment will be in the Zion Lutheran Church in the town of Sand Creek, Dunn County. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of service on Sunday at the church. There will be no visitation Saturdayevening.
